Commemorating Independence Day and Emphasizing the Importance of Education and Sustainable Development for the Younger Generation
On the evening of August 29, the Embassy of Vietnam in Iran held a ceremony to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2024). This is the day when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence and announced the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, known today as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Independence Day itself signifies the opening of a new era of independence and freedom for the people of Vietnam—a time of sovereignty, territorial integrity, the right to self-determination, and the pursuit of freedom and happiness.
At the event, we had the honor of hosting H.E. Mr. Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami, Deputy Foreign Minister and Head of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), along with over 100 guests from local agencies, organizations, businesses, the press, including a representative from ForoMag, and the diplomatic corps. Members of the Vietnamese community residing in Iran and Vietnamese students studying in Iran also attended the ceremony.
Teenagers and young adults are the inheritors of the country, the successors of our generation, and the rightful owners of the nation. Therefore, our government emphasizes the importance of education, training, and the enhancement of knowledge and work skills for them. Every teenager should have the opportunity to pursue education, success, happiness, and creativity.
This principle applies to all teenagers and young adults worldwide. Vocational training and the creation of sustainable employment for youth are crucial policies that governments pursue. Our government also emphasizes the importance of promoting their health, physical strength, cultural, and spiritual lives. Young people play a serious role in socio-economic development as well as in the protection of their homeland.
We also pay great attention to their moral education, encouraging them to learn about the glorious history of the country’s defense and construction during the years of national prosperity, thereby fostering a deep love for the motherland.
